The Pros Of Maxwell House French Roast Coffee
By Capisce
Start the morning right.
So Many Choices
I have been drinking Maxwell House French Roast for about 12 years. I have not found a better retail coffee and believe me I have tried a lot of coffee. I have tried small batch gourmet brands, Starbucks, Wholefood Fair Trade, 8 O'Clock, remember that? Gevalia coffee club, Cock Full-a-Nuts,(gotta love the name) Folgers, Chase and Sanborn, even that retired sports guy who promotes free trade coffee.
I have tried hazlenut flavored, cinnamon flavored, eggnog flavored, blends for all Holidays imaginable. I have tried beans from Brazil to Zimbabwe. Light to dark roast. Coffee with chicory.
I have taken the advice of Mrs. Olsen and trusted the spirit of Juan Valdez, but in my experience Maxwell House French Roast is the best value out there.

Smooth And Aromatic
I do not favor the other coffees that Maxwell House produces. I find most of them to be bitter, because most of them are blends. However Maxwell House French Roast is 100 % Arabica beans, the finest beans produced.
Arabica beans are the oldest beans grown, are native to Ethiopia and Yemen and have been around for possibly a thousand years.
Maxwell House French Roast is smooth with no bitterness. It almost has a cream like quality in the mouth feel and the aroma is almost addictive. It is a medium to dark roast, so those of you who like a robust coffee will have no problems, but it lacks the acidity that a lot of dark roasts can have.
These aspects make it great for coffee drinks such as Keoke Coffees or Irish Coffees, there is no acid to compete with the flavor of the liqueurs.
When friends come over for dinner and it is time for dessert, they are amazed when I tell them what they are drinking and continually comment on how good my coffee is. I have converted everyone I know.

The Price Is Right
I have purchased the 33 oz. cans for as little as 6.49 on sale and the 12 oz. package can be picked up for under 3.00. Of course this is on sale, but most major grocery stores run sales on Maxwell House all of the time.
Maxwell House, which is owned by Kraft Foods has also updated their packaging, so the graphics are a little brighter on the shelf. The French Roast designation is on a purple strip at the top of the package.
I suggest that the next time you are in the grocery and see a package on sale, pick one up. You will never go back to your 15.00 a pound gourmet coffees. This is such good quality at a reasonable price.

Ladye,Let me know what you think. Coffee is a matter of personal taste.I hope you like it.
Maybe I too should trust in the spirit of Juan Valdez! I used to drink Maxwell House, maybe it's time to try it again. :D
Make sure it is the French Roast. It is the only one made with Arabica beans. The Other Maxwell House coffees use Robusto beans wich are inferior.
